Senior Temporary Works Engineer

Location: Head Office, Appleton, Warrington

We are looking for a Senior Temporary Works Engineer to join the team based in our Head office near Warrington to undertake temporary works designs and assisting the Design Manager in the design process, supervision and checking of temporary works.

Responsibilities will include site visits, draughting, design and checking temporary works, liaising with permanent works designer and contractors. You will also be accountable for the management of the design, checking process and technical approval of erection and dismantling of designated temporary works.

The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Design Manager and working to support graduate engineers.

We’re looking for:

• Degree in Civil, Structural or Geotechnical Engineering with at least 4 years post qualification experience in Temporary Works / Construction.
• Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Engineer status.
• Experience within Ground Shoring, Working Platforms, Propping, Scaffolding, Formwork and False work.
• Experience in Soil Mechanics / Geotechnical Engineering is an advantage.
• Experience in working with different materials such as steel, concrete and timber is an advantage.
• Knowledge and understanding of BS5975:2019, CIRIA C760, BRE470 and other current design standards.
